There he became active in the school’s student-run newspaper, the Daily Nebraskan. In 2001, he attended the Eddie Adams Workshop in upstate New York, an honor awarded to the top 100 young photographers students in the country.

After completing photography internships at various papers, Lane started his professional career at the Lincoln Journal Star. He was named the 2003 Runner-up Photographer Of the Year by the Nebraska News Photographers Association. He also worked at the Sheridan Press in Wyoming and the Grand Island Independent in Nebraska. His work in Grand Island earned him the title 2007 Photographer of the Year in the Nebraska Associated Press Association’s contest. In session 2 of 3 Lane Hickenbottom will ease you into the administrative back end of WordPress.  This session is all about adding and organizing content, and getting your blog to look the way you want.

This second session is perfect for somebody who is new to WordPress or somebody who has only used it to add posts and would like to make wholesale changes to their blog.  You will learn:

You know the old Chinese proverb?  “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”

Session 1 is going to be one of those times when we simply give you the fish.  If you are one of those people who would just like to have somebody do it for you, here’s a perfect opportunity.  If you do not have WordPress installed on your own domain, schedule an appointment with Lane sometime the week of March 21 and he’ll install it for you. Please don’t register for session 1 if you already have WordPress installed on your own domain. Who want’s a smelly old dead fish?

If you are currently using a blog hosted somewhere else (such as Blogger.com, WordPress.com, etc) other than on your own domain, I’ll also try to move the content of your old blog to the new installation.

More about Scott

In June of 2010 Scott was asked to shoot FashionLOUD! for 89 Talent.  He shot the runway for his first time to the delight of AJ Brown, 89′s in-house photographer at that time, who said it was the best runway work he’s seen in a long time.  A few days later 89 asked Scott to be their featured photographer for their July fashion shoot featuring Sabrina Jones Designs.  They unveiled those images to rave reviews at their largest unveiling party ever.  Just before Omaha Fashion Week 2010 the organizers of that event asked Scott to shoot the runway for them. In September he continued his fashion work by photographing a benefit fashion show at Joslyn Castle and in October he was featured on Omaha Night Life’s Fashion Bar page with a shoot featuring clothing from Roots & Wings Boutique with Seven Salon’s hair and makeup styling.   This year Scott has continued photographing for several local designers.
